Towards improved pedagogical interactions with learning management systems in a higher Institution
1. To identify a list of open source and non-open source LMS
2. To discover the most common tasks currently performed by UI students and lecturers in a LMS (through observations, questionnaires and otherwise).
3. To conduct user study of UI Moodle platform
4. To discuss the findings and report students’ experience, highlighting usability issues and suggesting areas of improvement.
5. To design a model for improved pedagogical interactions between students and lecturers for UI LMS based on the findings above
6. To implement a prototype of the model on Moodle
7. To conduct experiments with the model above, validating the workability of the model
A Digital Game based learning system for educating youths about communicable diseases
Adaptive game based Mathematics tutor for children
3D Collaborative Virtual Campus Tour of University of Ibadan Computer Science Department
This project is aimed at building a 3D real world models of the environment and offices of University of Ibadan Computer Science Department . Each model will also be place on Google Earth and posted to the Google 3D warehouse in order to allow others to also build further models of UI buildings and corridors. The Google earth component is important as this will allow students to more easily grasp the geographical location of the actual office. Each model will allow a fly through and here we believe that students will actually comprehend who is actually located in the building and who is located in the office next door etc. Virtual classrooms can also be included and the integration of real world pressure sensors on staff chairs could also indicate who is actually in their office. This project can also assist lecturers and other regional UI staff who would also like to have a better feel for who is located where. This should increase the feeling of community among staff and students alike.
